Separations bay
Packed and tray teaching columns for binary distillation, with sample points and temperature profiles learners record by hand before plotting.
Our teaching bays hold distillation columns, shell-and-tube exchangers, and fluid-flow rigs sized for supervised student work. Open-day visitors walk these rooms with a tutor; enrolled learners book slots inside their course timetable.

Exchanger skids used to compare predicted overall coefficients with measured approach temperatures during the Process Design Certificate.
Laboratory time is scheduled inside each course. The Laboratory Skills Intensive uses both weekend days in the separations and wet-chemistry rooms. Certificate learners receive three corroborated experiment slots tied to their design assumptions. Visitors on open days remain on marked walkways unless invited to a supervised demonstration.
Closed-toe footwear is required. Coats and goggles are issued at the door for practical sessions. Food and drink stay outside the bay. Tutors stop a session if sampling discipline slips—practice here is meant to mirror plant habits, not race a checklist.
Ask for an open-day slot or a short escorted visit when cohorts are not running experiments.
